Graduate Blog – Our Time So Far Part 2

Since the Last Blog
It’s been a few months since I last shared an update here at Redmore Environmental, and I’ve been busy! As a Graduate Air Quality Consultant I’ve had the chance to dive deeper into a variety of projects, taking on more complex tasks and expanding my skill set across different sectors. Of course there’s been some fun along the way, with team development days keeping spirits high and tummies’ full!
Growing and Learning
Since my last post, I’ve taken on a range of more complex industrial project that have been both challenging and rewarding. In particular, I have been working on assessments to support small waste incineration, back-up generator and anaerobic digestion plants, using air dispersion modelling with the ADMS-6 package. These projects have utilised my growing technical abilities and helped me develop a deeper understanding of air quality regulations for a variety of industrial activities. Each project requires a tailored approach, meaning there’s always something new to learn and problems to solve.
I’ve branched out into different sectors, completing odour assessments and ambient air quality monitoring for new developments, as well as bioaerosol monitoring, construction dust and mineral dust assessments for new and existing industrial sites. The multitude of project types keeps things interesting and provides me with a broader understanding of the diverse sectors air quality assessments cover.
As my responsibilities have grown, I’ve had the opportunity to write and win my own proposals. This allows me to critically think about the best approach to meet project requirements and communicate this to clients. I have also been involved in the process of applying for Environmental Permits, gaining hands-on experience that has helped me to understand the regulatory frameworks which ensure operations meet relevant environmental standards.
I’m continually building on my knowledge and expertise with each new project, and I’m excited to see what challenges and learning opportunities lie ahead as I evolve within my role!
Team Development Days
While I continue to develop in my role the team here has been doing the same during our quarterly social events, which provide an opportunity to acknowledge our collective achievements and strengthen our team unity! In December we celebrated the festive season with a tapas meal, proving a great opportunity to relax, connect with colleagues and share a delicious spread of food. Then more recently in March we were back on the food appreciation theme on a food tour of Manchester, exploring some of the city’s local gems and celebrating 10 years of Redmore!
Reflecting on my journey so far, I’m grateful for the opportunities and mentorship provided by our supportive team, and I’m excited to further advance my career here at Redmore while contributing to our collective success!
