Chooo Jhu’nneee
June has absolutely flown by, but in the whirlwind of various annual leave, Alton Towers festivities and the worst weather EVER for a summer in the UK, we’ve made it to the other side – and with quite the successes as well!
- Callum was promoted to Air Quality Consultant after some fantastic development over the last year! With his ever growing skills in the monitoring team and the drive to get involved in all aspects of the company, we’re sure Cal will settle into his new role tremendously.
- The Redmore team hit up Alton Towers for our annual summer team development day. Though we were met with torrential downpour, Olly and Jethro kept the team driven and motivated to hit literally every big rollercoaster on the map and the day was a true success. Big thanks to Aaron and Tash for organising the event! Chooo Chooooo…
- Catrin produced her first case study for the website – if you haven’t seen it yet, it’s definitely worth a read. Catrin discusses a recent Air Quality Habitats Regulation Assessment for an extension to a livestock building at Moors Farm in Lancashire. For those who don’t often get involved in this work, it’s a great opportunity to understand some of the projects we are working on.
- The Environmental Permit application was submitted for Tweed Valley Maltings! A monster effort from the team to get this one over the line – Our star players featured Elliott, Alec, Liam, Ger, Jethro and Pearl. As Michael Jordan once said, “Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence win championships.”
- Megan P, Alex and Catrin all had the fun of getting their noses calibrated at various labs across the country. An afternoon I’m sure none of them will forget quickly, and a talking point for the rest of their lives at various networking events, air quality conferences and Christmas dinners with the family, as I’m sure the rest of us can attest to.
- We heard about the highlights of the DMUG conference, courtesy of Alec and Alex. A summary of the highs and not so highs of the day, some interesting assessment types to look out for in the future and a great rating of speaker presentations!!
- Just when you thought your brain had conquered all that had to be conquered in Odour, Ceri provided some other absolute essential training. Hitting up the world of Kitchen Odour Assessments and how to produce a stunning Odour Risk Assessment. Will we see from Ceri, the Odour Queen, again in July?!
- Jethro got involved in the international quoting game and provided a proposal for an Odour Assessment of a sewage works extension in Saudi Arabia. We’re yet to hear back but if we win, it’ll be a fantastic opportunity for the company and a potential training opportunity for that lucky someone who wants to be involved in international work.
After a May rollercoaster, Alton Towers seems to have got it all out of our system and we look forward to pushing on through the tropical(!) British summertime.
