From Graduate to Consultant: My Journey at Redmore

It’s time for Cody Taylor’s last graduate blog, so settle down and see what she’s been up to.
Since the Last Blog
It’s time for my final graduate blog, as I have now been promoted to an Air Quality Consultant! In the past year I’ve worked on a range of projects, carrying out air dispersion modelling for pollutant emissions, temperature variations and visible plumes, through use of the ADMS-6 software. There’s also been some big events along the way, with Redmore’s 10-year celebrations taking place down in the Capital!
Growing and Learning
The work is always varied and has ranged from a flour mill to emergency generators, and more recently a bespoke study on emissions from an Anaerobic Digestion Plant affecting aircraft overhead. The diverse range of projects I continue to complete is helping to develop and broaden my knowledge and technical abilities, shaping them into those of a well-rounded Air Quality Consultant.
My understanding of the regulatory framework which ensures operations meet the relevant environmental standards has been advanced by various project requirements, in support of both Environmental Permit Applications and Planning Applications, as well as discussions with the Environment Agency and Local Authority regulating bodies. My rapid development over the past year has also been supported greatly by the diverse skillsets within the team. Regular training sessions have ensured there is always support available and created valuable learning opportunities along the way.
With our work extending beyond the desk and into the local community, we’re proud to support the Manchester Youth Zone charity. We have several teams taking part in the RunThrough Relay in Salford, to help raise funds for their important work.
Team Development Days
This summer we marked 10-years of Redmore Environmental with a day out in London. The team enjoyed a VIP experience on the London Eye, followed by a boat trip along the River Thames, where we came together to celebrate our achievements. More recently, we tackled a tree-top adventure in Rivington where we climbed, zip-lined and navigated our way through an extensive high ropes course. The day was a great display of team spirit, with everyone cheering each other on, and we finished it off with some food and drinks once we were safely back on solid ground!
My time so far has flown by, with a supportive team and variety of opportunities that have assisted my development. I’m looking forward to continue growing here at Redmore and contributing to the success of the company!
