December Monitoring Round up

December Round up

As we brought 2025 to a close, December represented another important and productive month of site activity for the Redmore Environmental monitoring team. Throughout the month, our focus remained on delivering technically robust assessments, maintaining critical long-term monitoring programmes, and ensuring continuity across live sites through the winter period.

Our Bioaerosol Monitoring team returned to the north-east to complete routine quarterly monitoring at a waste recycling facility, undertaken in full accordance with the Environment Agency’s Technical Guidance Note M9, ‘Environmental Monitoring of Bioaerosols at Regulated Facilities’. During this visit, the team also supported the site following the introduction of a newly constructed Anaerobic Digestion Plant adjacent to the facility, which is now fed with waste processed on site. This new addition has resulted in slight changes to waste handling and storage practices.

The visit began with a detailed site walkover alongside site management to review potential bioaerosol sources and advise on appropriate mitigation measures, prior to developing a monitoring strategy fully aligned with M9 guidance. The results confirmed that concentrations of Aspergillus fumigatus and mesophilic bacteria remained within the relevant Environment Agency benchmark levels at all monitoring locations, demonstrating continued compliance with the site’s Environmental Permit.

In West London, our team completed a programme of Indoor Air Quality Monitoring in support of a refurbishment project for a self-storage facility, undertaken in accordance with BREEAM Refurbishment and Fit-Out 2014. Monitoring included assessment of Total Volatile Organic Compounds and formaldehyde across multiple internal areas, providing assurance that indoor air quality conditions were suitable ahead of occupation and supporting the client’s sustainability and wellbeing objectives.

December also saw continued support for Construction Dust Monitoring projects across London. With limited daylight hours and restricted access to mains power presenting challenges for solar-powered monitors, our team carried out planned site visits to manage external battery systems. These visits ensured uninterrupted monitoring and continuous data capture throughout the festive shutdown, maintaining compliance with planning and environmental requirements during a critical period.

Together, these projects reflect a strong and resilient end to the year for Redmore Environmental, highlighting our ability to adapt to seasonal challenges while continuing to deliver reliable, high-quality environmental data for our clients.

Looking Ahead

As we move into 2026, our focus remains on delivering high-quality, dependable air quality monitoring and analysis across all service areas. With several long-term programmes already underway and a growing number of new enquiries, we look forward to continuing to support development, operational compliance and environmental best practice across the UK.
