Beyond the Projects: Meet the Seniors and Associates Behind Redmore Environmental

At Redmore Environmental, our work is driven by people who are passionate about solving problems, supporting clients and making a difference through environmental consultancy.

While our clients see the finished reports, assessments and recommendations, they don’t always see the curiosity, collaboration and dedication that goes into delivering them.

This year, we wanted to introduce you to the people behind the projects our Seniors and Associates.From those who have built long-standing careers in air quality consultancy, to those who have grown with Redmore from Graduate Consultants, each member of the team brings their own experiences, expertise and perspective to the business. We asked them about their career journeys, what motivates them, the challenges they enjoy solving and what they value most about being part of the Redmore team.

Growing Through Challenges

One theme stood out throughout the conversations: the importance of embracing challenges and recognising the small wins along the way. Whether it is delivering a complex assessment, working to a tight deadline or developing confidence in a new technical area, these moments are reminders of how much knowledge and experience has been built over time.

“Some assessments can often be challenging, but knowing you were able to undertake a robust assessment and deliver this on time to the client, no matter the obstacles, reminds me of my skillset and what I have learnt at Redmore.” For others, stepping into new areas of work has been a chance to develop and grow.

“I felt both excited and nervous at the steep learning curve, but the team pulled together to support me throughout the process”.

Different Journeys, Shared Passion

Everyone’s route into air quality consultancy is different. Some discovered their passion through university research and environmental studies, while others found their way into the sector through early career opportunities.

One team member reflected: “I stumbled across a role in air quality and 12 years later I’m still here.” Others began their careers at Redmore and have developed their expertise alongside the company, progressing from Graduate Consultants into experienced specialists. Although their journeys differ, they share the same curiosity and enthusiasm for understanding how environmental challenges can be solved.

Solving Problems and Supporting Clients

For our Seniors and Associates, one of the most rewarding parts of consultancy is the variety. No two projects are the same, and every assessment brings its own challenges. “I enjoy that although the general process of each assessment is the same, each scheme has its own challenges, and is a new puzzle to solve.”

From planning assessments and construction dust monitoring, to odour surveys, industrial emissions and specialist monitoring programmes, the team enjoys combining technical expertise with practical problem-solving. “I particularly enjoy this work because of the complexity of the projects and the investigative approach required to identify solutions and achieve positive outcomes for clients.”

Learning From Each Other

A key part of life at Redmore is the support and knowledge shared across the team. For our Seniors and Associates, guiding others is not just about technical training,  it is about helping people develop confidence and understand the wider purpose behind their work.“When guiding someone on a project, I believe it is essential that they understand the reasons behind the assessment and its wider purpose.”

Creating an environment where people feel comfortable asking questions is something the team values highly. “Remembering that no question is a silly question.”

Making a Difference

Ultimately, the work our Seniors and Associates do is about more than assessments and reports. “I hope that my work has a meaningful impact on sustainable decision-making and works towards protecting both human health and ecological designations from potential air quality impacts.”
